Venous Insufficiency

Venous insufficiency occurs when the veins in the legs have difficulty sending blood back to the heart. When vein valves don’t function properly, blood can pool in the legs, leading to symptoms such as leg heaviness, swelling, aching, cramping, skin changes, and varicose veins. It is a common condition and can often be treated with minimally invasive, outpatient procedures.

Varicose Veins:

Varicose veins result from chronic venous insufficiency, in which venous valve dysfunction leads to venous reflux, elevated venous pressures, and vein dilation.

Treatment:

Common treatments for venous insufficiency include minimally invasive procedures such as endovenous ablation, sclerotherapy, and adhesive vein closure. These treatments work by closing or treating malfunctioning veins and redirecting blood flow to healthier veins, helping relieve symptoms like pain, swelling, and heaviness-often with little downtime.
